REIMAGINING
CAPITALISM
While looking for my next job, I ended up bootstrapping an Impact & Responsible Investment Advisory, Consulting, and Investment Management practice. Over the last few years, I have helped asset owners understand the power of their capital to reshape the world. I have done this through co-conceptualization, co-design, and execution of several Impact and Responsible Investment strategies and portfolios that have totaled over C$900M.
WHAT IS MY STORY?

An engineer and MBA by education, and an impact and responsible investor by profession, I hope to use my skills, experiences, and education to assist in building a fair, just, and equitable world.
I have experience consulting for a global oil major and thereafter implementing micro-finance and livelihood projects in rural India. I supported the impact investment lifecycle at a healthcare innovation fund, and assisted on strategy & innovation projects for the office of a CXO at a Canadian major. I currently work with Canadian and international foundations, family offices, and other investors on Impact Investment and Responsible Investment strategy design and execution.
I enjoy working at the intersection of social change and financial returns, and helping asset-owners understand the difference they can make with their capital. I (never thought so yet) greatly enjoy running the completing investment lifecycle, and feel grateful that I get to do work that I truly enjoy and that aligns with my values.
I am an active volunteer, and sit on the Board, Finance Committees, and Investment Committees for several nonprofits and foundations.
I love reading, travelling, cooking, staying active, and global politics. I have my own personal library and have traveled to 71 countries so far!

IMPACT INVESTING
Through private-market impact investing, I have helped deploy over US$400M across a range of risks, returns, impact themes, geographies, and product profiles.
RESPONSIBLE INVESTING
I have managed and directed several public markets Responsible Investment strategies totaling over US$500M.
PRIVATE ASSET MANAGEMENT
I have helped build the finance and investment practice for family offices and private trusts with assets under management totaling over US$4B.

I had the privilege of experiencing firsthand MJ’s passion, commitment and deep understanding of investing and in particular impact investing in my former role of Executive Director at the Catherine Donnelly Foundation. The Foundation was looking to meet our commitment of investing 10% of our assets in impact investments. We needed someone with imagination, boldness and knowledge of the sector to get us there.
MJ was and is that person. He stepped into his role with gusto and soon had us on our way to reaching our target. His thoroughness in assessing potential deals is top notch.
MJ also has a great deal of experience in policy development and was able to provide guidance to the board to help shape policies aligned with our goals. MJ understands how important it is to work collaboratively with his team internally, as well as with colleagues in the sector. These connections are important for growth.
